What is Gratuity Valuation?

Gratuity Valuation in India includes determining the payable amount to the employees according to the Gratuity Payment Act of 1972 in exchange for their valuable services. If the employees continuously worked in the same place for 5 years or more, they are entitled to get gratuity on their terminations, retirement, or resignation. In some cases such as death or permanent disability, the gratuity can also be paid before the 5 years completion. In such a case, where the employee is unable to reach the 5-year threshold, the gratuity amount will be a future liability. However, estimating the gratuity liability needs the expertise of actuarial consultants who can handle these complex calculations.
